The Pediatric Oncology Support Team (POST) helps children and their families deal with the impact of diagnosis and treatment of cancer and serious blood disorders. Families are eligible for services regardless of where the child is diagnosed and receive treatment for their cancer. Staff includes a child life specialist, mental health counselors and a case manager who work together to assess needs and do whatever is possible to help the child and family as the child is treated. This may include counseling, financial assistance or dialogue about treatment. Services are offered to children and families from Palm Beach, Treasure coast and Hendry Counties.
The Child Life and POST programs are supported through the generosity of the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation and the Be A Star Foundation.
